Screens * Scream * Sex - On Pleasure

Created for the performance by Isadora Alves, Salphinah Savin, Catherin Schöberl, and Emilymary Whitaker, this project centers on a series of custom wearable sculptures that redefine the performers' physical presence on stage. These costumes serve as extensions of the body, crafted from sublimated microfiber and polyester filling to resemble skin and fragmented body parts. The work deliberately blurs the boundaries of the individual form, making it unclear where one body ends and another begins. This visual ambiguity mirrors the performance’s exploration of collective intimacy, where choreographies are driven by recorded interviews about personal experiences of pleasure. The costumes serve as the primary medium through which the theme of skin is interrogated, transforming the performers into a fluid, interconnected entity during the presentation at Zentralwäscherei, Zürich.
